Transmission

If Your Vehicle Gets Stuck InMud or Snow Note: Do not rock the vehicle if the engine is not at normal operating temperature or damage to the transmission may occur. Note: Do not rock the vehicle for more than aminute or damage to the transmission and tiresmay occur, or the enginemay overheat. If your vehicle gets stuck in mud or snow, it may be rocked out by shifting between forward and reverse gears, stopping between shifts in a steady pattern. Press lightly on the accelerator in each gear.

E223576 1. Remove the shifter boot using a suitable tool

E223577 2. Using a screwdriver or similar tool, depress the brake shift interlock override until the blocker moves. 3. Move the transmission selector from park (P) to neutral (N). 4. Install the shifter boot. 5. Apply the brake pedal, start the vehicle and release the parking brake. Note: See your authorized dealer as soon as possible if this procedure is used.
