ALL SURFACE PROGRESS CONTROL ADAPTIVE SURFACE RESPONSE

Unique in this class of car, Jaguar's All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) technology is a low-speed cruise control that helps XF to cope with low-traction situations. ASPC allows the driver to concentrate on steering the vehicle. Once activated, you use the cruise control buttons to set a 'target' speed of between 3.5km/h and 30km/h. The system then works to achieve and maintain that speed while exerting optimum traction control. ASPC is standard on all engines fitted with automatic transmission and gives XF drivers added confidence over slippery, loose or icy surfaces, undulating terrain and even while descending a difficult incline. It helps make XF easy to drive in challenging conditions. ASPC also has a pull-away function, allowing XF to progress from rest on low-grip surfaces and ascending gradients, as well as a Hill Descent Control (HDC) function that manages vehicle speed on steeper inclines. On All Wheel Drive vehicles fitted with Adaptive Dynamics*, optional Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR) recognises differences between surfaces to exploit the maximum available grip. Drawing on Jaguar Land Rover's unrivalled expertise with All Wheel Drive systems, AdSR constantly monitors the car's environment and adjusts the appropriate engine and brake settings. Once selected, AdSR works at all speeds to support you in adverse weather and across challenging surfaces.

*Standard on XF S. With any given set of tyres, ASPC can accomplish comparable levels of traction to that achievable by an expert driver. Fitting all-season or winter tyres to XF can improve capability on slippery surfaces.
