Ghibli Diesel Engine technology that breaks the mold

The Ghibli Diesel is the first ever diesel powered car in Maserati’s history. Underneath the bonnet lies an innovative 3.0L V6 powerplant that boasts all the very latest in diesel technology – a vehicle that is very much in keeping with Maserati traditions. 5.9 l/100 km on the Combined Cycle, thanks in part to the Start-Stop system. It shuts down the engine whenever the car stops and restarts it automatically when it is time to move off again. A state- of-the-art Common Rail Fuel Injection system and the air cavity insulation of the exhaust manifolds work to make a major reduction in combustion noise. With the introduction of the new Maserati Active Sound system, the athletic talents of the Ghibli Diesel are underlined by a powerful exhaust note, made even more resonant with the push of the Sport button.
