aerodynamic eFF iciency The aerodynamics and styling of the GranCabrio Sport have been developed in tandem to minimise the drag coefficient: just 0.35 with the roof up, and 0.39 with roof down – excep- tional figures for an open top car. This was achieved in part thanks to the special structural reinforcement underneath the body, and the painstaking design of the hood, which does not impair the car’s aerodynamic efficiency even at high speed. chaSS i S The supporting monocoque is made of galvanised steel with box-section panels. The bonnet and front bumper cross-member are in aluminium and the boot lid is formed from a thermoset composite material. The chassis exceeds the most severe international crash test standards: constructed in steel, it incorporates a tubular structure at the rear to support the suspension and differential, and a front section to support the V8 engine.
