Vehicle driving

Caution When ACC is in driver-initiated acceleration mode, the vehicle is under the driver’s control, and the ACC will not conduct acceleration or deceleration control.

Caution The car-following headway is displayed only during adjustment.

The smaller the car-following headway, the shorter your available reaction time. Please adjust cruising speed and car-following headway appropriately based on external factors such as traffic flow ahead, real-time weather, and road conditions. Integrated adaptive cruise control system (IACC) System overview IACC integrates radar from the adaptive cruise control system with cameras from the lane departure warning system to detect vehicles and lane markings. By controlling vehicle speed, it maintains the set cruise speed or a pre-determined car-following headway with the vehicle ahead, while steering control keeps the vehicle within its lane. Before using IACC, please thoroughly review this chapter's content to understand and become familiar with the correct usage methods, restrictions, and requirements of this function. The driver always retains primary control of the vehicle. Under the following circumstances, drivers must quickly recognize hazard and disengage the IACC by pressing the brake pedal, IACC cancel button, or taking over steering control to ensure driving safety: 1. The vehicle fails to maintain a sufficient safety distance from vehicles ahead or in adjacent lanes; Warning! When utilizing IACC, the driver must firmly hold the steering wheel with both hands and continuously monitor the road conditions ahead, behind, and around the vehicle. Even when utilizing IACC, the driver always maintains ultimate responsibility for the safe and legal control of the vehicle, ensuring proper distance and speed. Failure to correctly use IACC as instructed may lead to traffic accidents such as collisions between the vehicle and surrounding objects or other vehicles. 2. Auxiliary steering is inadequate for safe navigation through bends; 3. When the vehicle is under conditions restricting IACC operation.
