Vehicle Driving
Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK)
Overview of the system
The Emergency Lane Keeping System (ELK) is used to prevent or reduce collision damage by providing reverse steering force when the vehicle is in danger of colliding with the road boundary guardrail or when the vehicle deviates from the lane and there is a risk of collision with an oncoming vehicle or a rearward vehicle under medium and high speed conditions. It detects lane markings and road edges in front of the vehicle through an intelligent forward - looking camera installed behind the front windshield, and detects oncoming vehicles through millimeter - wave radars installed on the left and right sides of the rear bumper. ELK includes emergency correction based on the road edge (ELK_re) and emergency correction based on the vehicle approaching behind (ELK_lcs).
CAUTION
ELK is an auxiliary function and can’t guarantee that it is applicable to all driving situations. You must keep control over the vehicle, drive carefully and take full responsibility. The ELK function will be triggered only when it is activated and the lane lines meet the relevant legal requirements. In adverse weather conditions, the system may not operate normally. Rain/snow/fog/strong contrast lighting (such as entering and exiting tunnels) will affect system functionality. The system may not operate or may trigger erroneous corrections under the following conditions or road sections:
•
Temporary construction marks for roads, etc.
•
There is water or crack on the road surface
• The lane markings are covered by dust/snow, etc.
•
The sensor is covered
• Sharp turns or narrow roads
•
Towing vehicles behind this vehicle
WARNING
It is strictly forbidden to repair the windshield near the sensor (Interior rearview mirror position). Cracks will affect the recognition effect of the camera. The entire front windshield must be replaced. Slight movement of the radar sensor may cause the system to fail to work normally. If the sensor and the surrounding area are hit, please go to an authorized dealer for inspection.
Instructions
